Annapurna Circle Trek is one of the most popular treks in the world, trekking up to Jomson and flying to Pokhara.

We will start our 14-day journey in Kathmandu by sightseeing. We will visit historic UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered around the capital. We will begin our trek from Syange, where we will enjoy the spectacular landscape that will change from time to time and Annapurna region’s culture. We will get to pass one of the world’s highest pass, Thorang La (5,416m), while on our journey circling the Annapurna. We will also enjoy the beautiful landscape of Manang valley and tour Muktinath, a place of grave importance for the Nepalese, both Hindus and Buddhists.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Upon your arrival, a team member representing Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. In the evening, you will attend a welcome dinner, where you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine that will introduce you to Nepal’s food culture, at the hotel hosted by Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure. You will stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 2Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation

We will have a guided tour of several of the most historical and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu, which are are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will be visiting Durbar Square, sacred Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the famous Swayambhunath (also known as ‘Monkey Temple’) and Boudhanath, which is one of the largest stupas in the world. Afternoon, We will get our equipment checked at night by our leader, get and be introduced to our fellow trekkers and discuss our trip. We stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Syange (1100m/3608 ft): 8 - 10 hours

On our long drive to Syange, which will begin in the morning, we will get to enjoy Nepal’s beauty with its green hills, rivers, terraced farms and the glorious Himalayas. We stay the night in Syange.

Day 4Trek from Syange to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft): 7 - 8 hours

We will make our way to Manang district after crossing a bridge near Tal. The trail is filled with rich company such as barley, rice, fields and continuing waterfalls. We will then pass through the Kodo village before reaching out destination of Dharapani. Dharapani is one of the biggest villages in Manang valley. We stay the night in Dharapani.

Day 5Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft): 5 - 6 hours

We will make our way through a few steep ridges along with some landslides on our way to Chame. We will continue to look above for the remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Annapurna IV. We will also enjoy small hot springs, where we can choose to relax for a while. We stay the night in Chame.

Day 6Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824ft): 5 - 6 hours

We will talk through a steep and narrow valley to gaze at Paungda Danda, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1500m from the river. We will also observe excellent views of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak to the north east. After that, we will start our descend to Manang Valley, enjoying the eye catching landscape throughout. We stay the night in Pisang.

Day 7Pisang to Manang (3,500m/11,482ft): 6 - 7 hours

We will pass through Upper Pisang via Geru, as it has outstanding views of Mt. Annapurna, Pisang Peak and others to offer. As we make our way near Manang, we will start feeling cold and dry climate. Nonetheless, a short visit to Barge Monastery should cheer us up. It is the biggest monastery in Manang. We stay the night at Manang.

Day 8Manang: Acclimatization day

We will keep ourselves fit for the trail that follows with a short hike to either Bhojo Gumba or Gangapurna Lake. If our body permits, we can even hike to Vraga Village. We can visit the Himalayan Rescue Association here, which will give us some idea about Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). We stay the night in Manang.

Day 9Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft): 3 - 4 hours

The trail crossed a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki, and then continues to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley turning north-west up of the valley of Jarsang Khola, from Manang village. The trail will follow this valley northward, passing through a few pastures, a scrub of juniper trees, as it steadily gains elevation. The trail passes near the small village of Ghunsa. From here, the trail goes through meadows where the horses and yaks graze. Upon crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, the trail passes an ancient old Mani wall and reaches another small village of Yak Kharka. A small but gradual ascend is the key to avoid altitude problems.

Day 10Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi: (4420m/14501ft): 3-4 hours

From here, it is an uphill walk to Thorang Phedi. After a short walk, we will cross a suspension bridge and reach the village of Ledar. Furthermore, we ascend and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorang Phedi. This is the last village before Thorang La. In this trip, we will be rewarded by some of the best views of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak and Mt. Khatungkan. We stay the night in Thorang Phedi.

Day 11Trek to Thorong La (5416m/17764ft) to Muktinath (3,800/12,467ft) then drive to Jomsom: 7 - 8 hours trek, 1 hour drive

The main objective of the day will be crossing Thorang La pass. We will cross the pass from east-to-west, which is the easier and safest direction. We will be waking up at around 3 in the morning and walk up the mountain. Our journey will be worth it when we finally make it to the top. We can take a few photographs before heading to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorang La pass. Following up, we will drive to Jomsom, a Himalayan valley famous for its apples. We stay the night in Jomsom.

Day 12Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara: 25 minutes

Today, we will be flying back to Pokhara. After checking-in at the hotel, we can choose to take a rest for a while or visit the Lakeside area around Fewa Lake. We can choose to buy some souvenirs here. We stay the night in Pokhara.

Day 13Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 5-6 hours

After breakfast, we will bid farewell to the lake city of Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will take the rest of the day off. There will be a farewell dinner hosted by Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure in the evening to celebrate our success.

Day 14Final Departure

Our journey and time together in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our flight. On your way back home, you can plan your next adventure in this beautiful country of Nepal with Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure.
