Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek is an opportunity to arrive at the base camp of the world’s third tallest mountain on a remote mountain trail perfect for trekkers who appreciate the isolation. Mt. Kanchenjunga is situated in the far north-eastern corner of Nepal and is viewed as one of the most wonderful mountain massifs on the planet. The name Kanchenjunga signifies ‘Five Fortunes of the Incomparable Day off’ is in reference to the five summits that make up Kanchenjunga.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Upon your arrival, a team member representing Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. In the evening, you will attend a welcome dinner, where you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine that will introduce you to Nepal’s food culture, at the hotel hosted by Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure. You will stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 2Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation

We will have a guided tour of several of the most historical and spiritual attractions of Kathmandu, which are are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will be visiting Durbar Square, sacred Hindu temple Pashupatinath, the famous Swayambhunath (also known as ‘Monkey Temple’) and Boudhanath, which is one of the largest stupas in the world. Afternoon, We will get our equipment checked at night by our leader, get and be introduced to our fellow trekkers and discuss our trip. We stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 3Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur (2,420m/7938ft), Drive to Taplejung; 45 min flight & 9 hours drive

We take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. Bhadrapur is located in Mechi zone of the southeastern part of Nepal. From here, we drive to Taplejung, where we reside for the night.

Day 4Taplejung to Lalikharka (2265m/7,431ft): 4 – 5 hours trek

On the 4th day of the trek, we will make our way for Lalikharka by 5 hours of trekking. Lalikharka is a delightful town in Panchthar Locale in the Mechi Zone of eastern Nepal. It is a synchronous rising and plunge on a path that for the most part goes through rich green woods right to Lalikharkha

Day 5Lalikharka to Khesewa (2120m/6,955ft): 5 - 6 hours trek

We start our trek to Khesewa after breakfast. It is generally a simple drop until Phundrawa. From here we start our walk up. It is a lofty move until Yangpang from where we climb relentlessly up until Phumphe Danda pursued by another rising to Khesewa. Our trek will be through woodlands and little towns. We stay the night in Khesewa.

Day 6Khesewa to Mamankhe (1785m/5,856ft): 5 - 6 hours trek

After breakfast, we start our trek towards Kabeli Khola. Next, we stroll on a path that goes through timberlands before intersection a little stream. Day 7Mamankhe to Yamphudin (2080m/6824ft): 4 -5 hours

Day 18Pangpema to Lhonak: 3 – 4 hours

We make our way back to Lhonak from Pangpema to spend the night.

Day 19Lhonak to Ghunsa (3475m/11,400ft): 6 - 7 hours

From Lhonak, we dive right to Ghunsa by means of Kambache. It is a similar course we took when we were scaling.

Day 20Ghunsa to Amjilosa (2,308m/7,572ft): 5 - 6 hours

Day 22Chirwa to Taplejung via Mitlung (921m/3020 m): 7 - 8 hours trek

After a great time in Chirwa, we head to Taplejung by trekking for 8 hours. The trekking trails en route to Mitlung offers greenery at its ideal, verdures and faunas and particularly interesting towns constantly prepared to invite us. We stay the night in Taplejung

Day 23Taplejung to Bhadrapur: 9 hours drive

We trace our steps back to Bhadrapur from Taplejung via bus. The bus ride will last for approximately 9 hours.

Day 24Fly to Kathmandu

We fly back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted back to our hotel. We can enjoy the day freely, go shopping, or explore any landmarks we might have missed during our first day in Kathmandu. To celebrate our wonderful journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. We stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 25Final departure

Our journey and time together in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Unleash Nepal Treks & Adventure will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our flight.
